About New England Allergy Treatment Center (NEFATC)
Dr. Factor along with Dr. Mendelson and Dr. Lee opened their Center in 2010 when private practice OIT was performed by just the 3 or 4 other docs in the country (Dr. Wasserman, Dr. Mansfield, Dr. Baker and Dr. Randhawa).
Dr. Factor adds, “As of mid-point 2016, we’ve just treated our 800th peanut patient and are up to 1000 total patients. I’m fairly certain that no one has these numbers or this experience. Additionally, we are now offering OIT for multi-nuts at once (cashew and walnut) and are soon to add almond and sesame to complement milk/egg/peanut OIT. My goal has, and continues to be, to provide effective OIT in the safest possible way which is why I established a dedicated Center with staff and physicians focused solely on OIT rather than treating patients as part of a general allergy practice.”
