Dr. Rabia Chaudhry, MD, FACAAI

Welcome Dr. Rabia Chaudhry of South Florida Food Allergy Center to our Private Practice OIT Provider List. Before committing to offer OIT and start her own private practice, Dr. Chaudhry discussed procedures with several of her colleagues including Dr. Richard Wasserman, Dr. Sakina Bajowala, and Dr. Mark Weinstein, all seasoned Private Practice OIT Allergists who joined our network nearly a decade ago. Dr. Mark Weinstein was one of her mentors in fellowship and welcomed her into his office to shadow him and his staff in August 2018. Dr. Chaudhry’s list of allergens she plans to desensitize will continue to grow as she meets the needs of her patients.

Background

Dr. Chaudhry completed medical school in Michigan, and completed her Pediatric residency and Allergy & Immunology fellowship in New Jersey. She practiced in New Jersey until she moved to Florida with her family in 2015. She had been working as the Allergist and Immunologist for the largest Pediatric group in Florida doing 2-3 food challenges a day. Their closest OIT physician was  3 1/2 hours away from their office, even further for some of her patients. She had sent several patients, whose risk for anaphylaxis was so severe, to Dr. Windom’s office. She urged them to make that drive. Unfortunately, many could not. Once both of her children were enrolled in school, she decided to leave her group (as they were not interested in oral immunotherapy), and start her own practice specifically including OIT. She felt, and continues to believe, the need for OIT is too large and important not to offer it. Dr. Chaudhry is thrilled to be in a place where she can now thoroughly help.
